3: Matters Arising: David S stated no progress as yet as acting treasurer on either the new accounting system or setting up a new bank account – Action – DS to liaise further with Chris Charters and seek extra advice from Dave Gill. It was noted that DS is only currently acting treasurer and as such does not have any access to the Branch accounts. Pub Reviews- see Pubs Officer report Action – Dave D to liaise with Dave Gill re accessing and updating Whatpub. Some progress has been made following DD contacting CAMRA HQ and in particular Val Langford. This is still some confusion at HQ over DD’s email but the feeling was it was about to be resolved. DD will have access to Pubzilla and will be able to keep local published PUB information up to date. Graham to ask Chris Charters about boundaries especially in the south as it may affect at least one pub being in either our area or Breconshire at the next regional meeting in Cardiff on 05 09 2026

Plan for next round of POTY COTY and CiderPOTY see minutes following The plan was agreed and will be circulated to membership via email.

further ideas were to revisit Rhayader and Llandrindod Wells (also a return to Knighton in the autumn to present awards at Watsons).

4: Treasurers Report: see matters arising above

5: Pub Officers Report: Since the previous meeting DD and TT had made further visits to local pubs – George and dragon in Knighton is open again, The Golden Lion in Knighton open but with limited hours; The Plough Knighton open but with limited hours; also in Rhayader the Crown and Lamb and Flag (both under same ownership) were serving between them Rev James (Brains Brewery), Jemima Pitchfork (Glamorgan Brewery), Ludlow Gold and Three Tuns. In addition DS had visited the Mid Wales Inn Pant y Dwr and found it trading again. Limited hours and not always serving Cask Ale. Also concerns raised about the status at the Lion in Newbridge on Wye. Current management are looking to sell. Future uncertain.

6: POTY: COTY: Cider pub of the year plans for 2027 (see plan above) The plan was agreed and will be circulated to membership via email in September. There will be the opportunity for all members on the email list to make POTY: COTY: Cider pub of the year nominations. At the October branch meeting those present will draw up a short list and decide on who, where and when voting will take place. This process to be finalised by end of February 2027

7: Meetings venues for September - Llanerch Hotel Llandrindod Wells 12/09/2026 1.00pm / October – Watsons Knighton 2.00pm / November – The Greyhound Llangunllo 2.00pm

Special trips – Shrewsbury Beer festival for instance. Setting up a Whatsapp group. AT created the Whatsapp group Radnorshire Camra. GH to invite members on the current mailing list.
